In thankfulness for our actions towards one another, we spread kindness. An attitude of gratitude will have you seeing life from a different perspective.

Ruth 1:16 - Gratitude despite hard times

“But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” 

Naomi had lost both sons and urged her daughter-in-law to return to their people. Ruth resisted and clung to Naomi through the travel to Bethlehem.

Ruth was persistent in staying with a loved one through the hard times they endured together.

She shows our devotion to family members despite the various trials we may have amongst one another.

Just as in Genesis 2:24, a man leaves his parents to cling to a wife to become one. Express gratitude to the family by staying close during their trials and surrounding them with His unfailing love.

Proverbs 17:17 ESV - Obligation to true friends

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”

Romans 8:28 is a reminder of how he plans every detail in our lives for our good. He never changes even when we disobey or stray away from Him.

Praise Him, for He is always in the works for your good.


Philippians 4:11-12 - Grace through hard times

“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” 

Paul focuses on remaining content despite his circumstances. He is sitting in prison while writing and having to gain a different insight into God's life and will.

The situations Paul is describing he has already gone through and remained content. However, Paul has faith that the glory of God will always provide.

2 Corinthians 11:24-29 goes into greater detail about what Paul endured, including physical beatings and hardships that could have quickly taken his life.

In times of hardship, you may blame God or find it hard to find the little things to be thankful for in your day-to-day activities.

This favorite bible verse is a reminder that has an attitude of thanksgiving in any circumstance. To have a grateful heart, you must be content with your life currently.

It is a trait that you must learn since it comes naturally to nobody. You cannot receive the full reward from the rock of our salvation without overcoming contentment and joy in the everyday things we overlook.
